Among the many controversial issues on the November South Dakota ballot, Initiated Measure Six is probably the most controversial. Feelings on both sides are very strong. Supporters call it "sensible legislation that protects human life," while opponents call it a "cruel and silly law."Why do you think the two sides take such opposite views of this measure? Did anything in today's Noon Forum presentation give you better insight into the fundamental disagreement involved here?

I thought it was stupid how the side against it didn't speak. How do they expect to get people to vote against it if they don't explain why people should? The side for it was pretty convincing. I didn't really know much about the law, so I learned a lot by going. It makes it a little easier to try and pick a side to vote for now.
I was not able to attend the meeting...but what I will say is that every other state around SD is watching. I am a ND resident and many of the residents here are talking about it. All I can say to all South Dakotans is VOTE. As long as the law is decided based upon the majority of your beliefs, something has to be accomplished (right?). It is interesting that both sides are activists & are passionate- & also acts as if their idea is the only way (like it is common sense or something). I am not sure why that is.... I am interested in the outcome.
